Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music. It was developed in Brazil mainly by West African descendants with native Brazilian influences. It is known for quick and complex moves, mainly using power, speed, and leverage for a wide variety of kicks, spins, and highly mobile techniques.

Its history

Conceived in Africa and born in Brazil, capoeira and its history is set back in Africa and clans from Angola Slaves living on Brazilian estates who weren't permitted to straightforwardly rehearse their traditional forms of self-defense. The outcome was a sport of fluid ground movements, spinning kicks, and daring acrobatics set to the lively applauding and singing of the spectators. Capoeira has evolved over centuries into a unique Brazilian art form which is a combination of martial arts, dance, acrobatics, and live music.
